23/02/2011
RAK Ceramics, the biggest Ceramics Manufacturer in the world has exhibited at The Surface Design Show in London. The show was attended by some of the most prestigious architects practices and design houses and RAK generated huge interest in its products, notably, by demonstrating the diverse commercial applications of its 1800mm x 1200 porcelain slabs for exterior cladding and interiors. RAK Ceramics are the only manufacturer producing slabs of this size and the company are currently supplying to one of the biggest construction projects in London.
Another showcased project was Radisson Hotel’s Bijou Bar interior at Heathrow. The interior design team have used RAK’s stunning Paradox porcelain metallic floor tile to transform the interior of the venue. Kevin Jackson, UK national tile sales manager says “we can provide continuity of supply to major construction projects, a key factor in securing our involvement in supplying significant quantities of tiles to and porcelain vanity tops to customers such as Radisson Hotels.” RAK are also highlighting trends for next year with greys and creams predicted to be hot for 2011, perhaps paired with shades of plum or aubergine to add a touch of flamboyance. Jackson says “In my view grey is set to become the new neutral colour of choice, as it’s versatile enough to be teamed with various shades to create a sophisticated contemporary look. Stone Effects have been popular for some time and the natural look is set to remain a continuing influence through 2011, Likely to be teamed with Metallics in gold bronze or silver”. RAK Ceramics has core product ranges for interior or exterior applications. Lounge is one of RAK’s most popular porcelain ranges, available in a choice of six colours both polished and unpolished and in sizes up to 120x180cm. Project applications have ranged from large retail and public spaces to cladding on one of the largest construction projects in the UK. RAK Ceramics UK looks set for another successful year with continued growth of the company’s business within the contract and commercial sectors.
