RAK solutions for Part G Building Regulations

The proposed changes to the Part G Building Regulations mean that designers and specifiers will be looking for products that meet these new requirements, both in terms of regulating the temperature of hot water and in water efficiency. In turn it is the job of manufacturers in both the kitchen and bathroom industry to get clever with the products in their offering and the bathroom is an area where water usage can certainly be trimmed down.

RAK Ceramics offers a comprehensive range of dual flush WCs that can help to reduce water usage significantly, effectively halving the normal amount of water used to flush the toilet. With the proposed changes requiring a reduction of water usage in new build homes to just 125 litres per person, Rob Jull, md of RAK Ceramics states, ‘we have a hands free operation WC in our Compact range which allows you to provide a short flush simply by waving your hand over the sensor.’ To produce 6 litre flush the user needs to deliberately linger their hand over the sensor and this very conscious action means that users rarely waste water unnecessarily.

Although the current requirements are targeted at the new build homes, Rob Jull believes that ‘without a doubt, in these environmentally conscious times, it won’t be long before these requirements effect the refurbishment market too.’
